The GEO Symposium and Plenary is a high-level international event organized by the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), bringing together government representatives, international organizations, scientists, and geospatial experts to advance the use of Earth observation data for policy, innovation, and sustainable development.
The Symposium focuses on strategic dialogue, knowledge exchange, and best practices in applying satellite, in situ, and geospatial data to address global challenges such as climate change, disaster risk reduction, biodiversity loss, food security, and urban resilience. The Plenary provides a forum for governance, coordination, and decision-making among GEO Members and Participating Organizations.
By strengthening international cooperation, data sharing, and capacity building, the GEO Symposium and Plenary supports evidence-based decision-making and contributes to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and other global environmental commitments.
