For the second year in a row the SDG Tent offers one, single accessible platform for companies and organisations to accelerate change towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos 21-24 January 2020. The tent specifically addresses the role that business can play in delivering the SDGs. Five years after the introduction of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are a third of the way along the targeted timeline for their achievement in 2030. Over the last five years, businesses, organisations and civil society have spent time defining what the SDGs mean to them. The focus now needs to be on mobilising real action. The 2020 SDG Tent will host close to 30 events organized by Platinum partners, including DSM, InTent, Salesforce, WBCSD and Yara, and Gold partners including, Cargill, Swarovski and UPS. Sessions will showcase data, business cases and public private partnerships that are innovating, serving societal needs and exceeding financial performance. From smaller conversations with 40 people to larger discussions with up to 120 people, topics such as artificial intelligence, youth entrepreneurship, malnutrition, the plastics economy and climate change will be addressed. The SDG Tent will bring participants together in an impartial and open space for breakfast, lunch and dinner sessions, with a dedicated café area for informal discussions.
