The international spinQueST conference will focus on recent advances in science and technology that aim to operate surface-supported quantum architectures built from atomic and molecular units. The conference will cover a broad range of phenomena occurring in atomic and molecular arrangements on surfaces. These include, in particular, the quantum effects of coherence and entanglement, as well as various techniques for investigating and manipulating electronic states and spins on surfaces. At the spinQueST conference, we will report on the current state of research and plan further interdisciplinary efforts to (1) overcome remaining limitations in the generation of quantum states on solid surfaces, (2) find novel coherent surface systems, and (3) develop strategies for upscaling quantum operations from a single device to integrated systems.
