The 12th International Symposium on Objective Measures in Auditory Implants (OMAI) is an international scientific meeting dedicated to research and clinical advancements related to objective measurement techniques used in auditory implant technologies. The symposium brings together clinicians, researchers, audiologists, biomedical engineers, and hearing scientists who work in the fields of cochlear implants, auditory brainstem implants, and other implantable hearing devices.

Auditory implants have significantly improved the quality of life for individuals with severe to profound hearing loss. However, optimizing implant performance and patient outcomes requires accurate and reliable assessment methods. Objective measures—such as electrophysiological responses and neural monitoring techniques—play a crucial role in evaluating auditory function, guiding implant programming, and improving rehabilitation strategies, especially for patients who cannot provide reliable behavioral responses, such as infants or individuals with additional disabilities.

The symposium focuses on the latest developments in objective assessment methods used in auditory implants. Topics commonly addressed include electrically evoked compound action potentials (ECAP), auditory brainstem responses (ABR), cortical auditory evoked potentials, intraoperative monitoring, neural response telemetry, and the integration of objective data into clinical decision-making. Participants also discuss technological innovations, new research methodologies, and clinical applications that enhance hearing outcomes.

Through keynote lectures, scientific presentations, panel discussions, and collaborative workshops, the OMAI symposium provides a platform for sharing cutting-edge research and clinical experiences. The event encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange aimed at improving diagnostic techniques, refining implant programming, and advancing the future of auditory implant technology.
