The Compliance Committee under the Protocol on Water and Health is a subsidiary body established to promote, facilitate, and review compliance with the obligations of the Protocol on Water and Health, a joint initiative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Committee provides a non-confrontational, transparent, and cooperative mechanism to support Parties in implementing commitments related to safe drinking water, sanitation, water resource protection, and public health. Its work includes reviewing submissions, offering guidance, facilitating dialogue, and identifying solutions to address implementation challenges.

By strengthening accountability, cooperation, and technical support, the Compliance Committee under the Protocol on Water and Health contributes to improved water governance, environmental protection, and health outcomes, supporting progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
