The Lucerne Summer University: Ethics in a Global Context (LSUE) 2027 brings together Master’s students from around the world to explore ethical questions and challenges across academic disciplines, cultures, traditions and worldviews. Held under the patronage of UNESCO, the programme provides an international platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, ethical reflection and the development of practical approaches to global challenges.

The next Lucerne Summer University takes place from April 30 to May 5, 2027, at the University of Lucerne in Switzerland. The programme is conducted in English and is designed for Master’s students from all disciplines who are interested in contemporary and future ethical issues in a global context.

LSUE focuses on building a global network for sustainable responsibility through interactive learning, interdisciplinary exchange, mentorship and collaborative projects. Participants develop methods and skills for addressing moral dilemmas and ethical challenges in their own academic or professional fields. The programme also encourages participants to connect ethical knowledge with practical projects and long-term social impact.

The programme addresses a wide range of topics, including environmental ethics, technology and AI ethics, human rights, business and financial ethics, intercultural ethics, biomedical ethics, global justice, sustainability and social responsibility. These themes provide opportunities to examine complex global issues from multiple academic and cultural perspectives.

The Lucerne Summer University is particularly relevant for students interested in ethics, philosophy, social sciences, sustainability, human rights, technology, business, healthcare, environmental issues and responsible decision-making. Participants receive 6 ECTS upon successful completion of the programme.

With its emphasis on interdisciplinary learning and international networking, LSUE supports the development of ethical competencies that can be applied in research, professional environments, organizations and initiatives addressing global challenges. The programme follows the guiding principle “Know how, act now” and aims to foster a growing international network of people committed to sustainable responsibility.
