The 16th SSVD Congress 2027 – Focus on Dental X-rays will take place on January 2027 at TRAFO Baden, bringing together veterinarians and veterinary practice assistants with a particular interest in veterinary dentistry. Organised by the Swiss Society of Veterinary Dentistry (SSVD), the congress focuses on practical challenges and complications in veterinary dental treatment, with dental radiography and diagnostic imaging forming an important part of the accompanying professional programme and exhibition.
The main theme of the 2027 congress is complications in veterinary dental treatment. Participants will explore practical approaches, solutions, tips and clinical experience for situations in which dental procedures do not proceed as planned. The programme is designed to support both veterinarians and veterinary practice assistants, with a shared lecture programme that encourages exchange within the entire veterinary practice team.
Dental X-rays and diagnostic imaging are particularly important in modern veterinary dentistry. High-quality intraoral radiographs can support the assessment of dental structures and help veterinary professionals evaluate challenging cases. The congress provides an opportunity to discuss modern dental radiography, digital imaging technologies, software and related equipment used in veterinary practices and clinics.
The event features specialist expertise from both veterinary and human dentistry. The announced speakers include Prof. Dr. med. dent. Sebastian Kühl and Assist. Prof. Ana Nemec, DVM, PhD, Dipl. AVDC, EVDC, bringing experience in oral surgery, veterinary dentistry and clinical education. The congress is accredited for six continuing-education hours.
Alongside the lectures, the SSVD Congress 2027 includes an industry exhibition presenting developments in veterinary dentistry, dental X-ray technology and related fields. This provides participants with an opportunity to discover current solutions and exchange directly with companies and specialists working in veterinary dental care.
Held at TRAFO Baden, the Focus on Dental X-rays: SSVD Congress 2027 offers a specialised continuing-education opportunity for veterinary professionals interested in dental medicine, diagnostic imaging, dental radiography and the management of complications in veterinary dental procedures. The combination of specialist lectures, practical knowledge and industry exchange makes the congress relevant for modern veterinary practices and clinics.
