The Fifth WHO Global Forum on Medical Devices took place 2–4 June 2025 as a major World Health Organization (WHO) event focused on improving global access, safety, affordability, and regulation of medical technologies used across all levels of health care. Svetovna zdravstvena organizacija

Hosted virtually from Geneva the Forum convened nearly 1,795 participants from over 130 Member States alongside expert speakers across 15 main sessions and five side events. The programme addressed key areas such as priority medical devices, diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, regulatory frameworks, health technology assessment, sustainability, and AI in medical devices. The core objectives of the Forum were:

  • Improving access to essential and priority medical devices under Universal Health Coverage. Svetovna zdravstvena organizacija

  • Sharing country evidence of best practices in regulation, assessment, and management. Svetovna zdravstvena organizacija

  • Showcasing innovative, affordable technologies aligned with global health priorities. Svetovna zdravstvena organizacija

  • Promoting WHO’s tools and guidelines to support implementation at national levels. Svetovna zdravstvena organizacija

The Forum served as a platform for policymakers, regulators, industry stakeholders, clinicians, and global health advocates to collaborate on solutions that enhance the safety, effectiveness, and equitable distribution of medical devices worldwide.
