Venue

This very unusual meeting place is a historic, former transformer assembly factory and high voltage laboratory, built by Brown Boveri & Co. – later ABB – the Swiss Swedish electrical engineering giant. The first building of the complex dates back to 1920. In the 1990’s, the Trafo was home to the hit musical Space Dream and in 2003 it was converted into the Trafo Centre, Baden’s largest entertainment and congress meet-ing point. Apart from the Convention Centre it houses an 81- room business hotel, five fully digitalized movie theatres, all of which can also be rented for corporate presentations, a Fitness Centre, one restaurant, a bike store and a 300-slot indoor parking.

Big. Bigger. Trafo Baden.

With over 4000 sqm and a total of 25 event halls, meeting rooms and exhibition spaces, the Trafo Baden is one of the largest and most flexible event locations both in the
greater Zurich area and in Switzerland. Meeting space sizes go from 25 to 1400 sqm and a wide array of events from corporate presentations, to concert and expositions
up to 2500 people can be hosted here. With a short, 16-minute train ride from Zurich main station, 35 minutes from Zurich International Airport or 1 hour from Bern, Lucerne and Basel, the Trafo Baden is the perfect location for events with participants arriving from all directions.

Business Centre

The ten smaller meeting rooms, ranging from 25 to 100 sqm, serve a dual purpose. They can be rented for smaller seminars of up to 100 participants, including inhouse catering. The rooms are also available for short meetings with no more than 12 participants or simply as a quiet place to work in-between, at a per person, per hour rate of 20 Swiss francs, including coffee and mineral water.

Catering

One of the things congress participants remember most about an event is the food. The Trafo Baden Convention Centre is not only famous for its diversity of meeting spaces, but also for the outstanding quality of its inhouse catering. Culinary Director Martin Liefeith and his team surprise guests with a culinary experience worth of a fine dining restaurant, even for 2500 people at a time.

Sustainability: a topic of the event industry

As a member of the Sustainable Switzerland Entrepreneurs Club, Trafo Baden is committed to a sustainable future. Likewise, the operation is being consistently developed in the direction of sustainability: This is demonstrated by the Swisstainable programme, in which Trafo Baden has reached the first level, and continuously works towards achieving Level 2.

State-of-the-Art AV

A brandnew feature makes Trafo Baden even more interesting: a 45 sqm LED-wall complete with sound system, stage and lighting is a new fix component of the 1400m2 Hall 37. At a very attractive daily flat rate, the AV-package is a true budget saver. The high resolution of the LED-wall allows films and presentations to be shown even with daylight.
