The President of the German Bundesbank, has given the all-clear: In his view, “the wave of inflation is running out.” He sees the euro area well on its way to achieving the inflation target of 2 percent in the long term. This should happen by the end of 2025. Consumer prices are also falling significantly in the USA. In August, the inflation rate fell to 2.5 percent. The first interest rate cuts have been implemented on both sides of the Atlantic. Ultimately, it must be ensured that inflation approaches the 2 percent target without unnecessarily slowing the economy. At the same time, China wants to give the People’s Republic new economic momentum with the most comprehensive package of monetary measures since the coronavirus pandemic. Growth and investment are urgently needed all over the world to end the weak economic momentum, banish the specter of recession and counteract the sometimes high levels of debt of companies and states. A balancing act for monetary policy and a challenging environment for investors: What investment opportunities do we see in 2025 and what should investors take to heart in order to preserve and increase their assets?
