Blockchain technology is increasingly penetrating the core of the financial industry, with strategic implications for traditional financial service providers. From Bitcoin as a “store of value,” to new digital asset-based business areas, to stablecoins that have the potential to fundamentally transform banking infrastructure, digital assets and blockchain technology are driving fundamental upheavals that must be proactively addressed by boards of directors and executive management teams. It is essential to position oneself intelligently for this future.

The Digital Asset Executive Seminar was created as a two-day format so that executives from the financial industry can develop, review, and optimize strategies related to digital assets and DeFi in a closed, trusting environment. Significant technological developments will be addressed, the essential building blocks of digital asset offerings will be discussed using current practical examples, core elements of a DeFi strategy will be explored in depth, and visionary future perspectives will be debated.

To ensure the best possible exploration of this multifaceted topic, the Digital Asset Seminar on October 21-22 or November 25-27 offers the following program elements, among others:

  • Detailed and unbiased assessments of relevant trends by Prof. Dr. Fabian Schär from the Center for Innovative Finance at the University of Basel.
  • Deep dives and personal discussions with experts on essential building blocks of a digital asset strategy, such as the custody and trading of crypto assets, regulatory and tax requirements, and more.
  • Concrete examples and experiences from traditional financial institutions on the development and implementation of their strategies.
  • Strategic perspective on the future of stablecoins, permissionless blockchains, and the Swiss financial center in global competition.

We look forward to input and discussions with BlackRock, BX Swiss, Crypto Finance, Incore Bank, Luzerner Kantonalbank, MME, the Swiss Bankers Association, UBS, and others. The complete two-day program will be available on this website soon.

To ensure an optimal discussion and working environment, the two-day Digital Asset Seminar is limited to 30 participants and is by invitation only. Please let us know of your interest in participating in the event at the end of October or November using this form.

The Executive Seminar is an initiative of the Center for Innovative Finance at the University of Basel, the Finanz und Wirtschaft Forum, and Sparkr. Together, we offer you a framework at the Trust Square Innovation Hub on Bahnhofstrasse to explore and explore the strategic opportunities of digital assets and DeFi in depth. We look forward to seeing you.
