The NCCR Chemical Biology is organising the 2022 International Symposium on Chemical Biology to be held from November 2022 at Campus Biotech in Geneva. This international meeting of high scientific calibre will bring together leading scientists to feature the latest advances within the broad field of Chemical Biology.
We wish to expose delegates to new areas of research, allow for the cross pollination of ideas and targeted networking. The outcome of this unique learning experience comprises additionally extensive poster sessions and ample time for discussion after each talk.
Organizer: the NCCR Chemical Biology
The NCCR Chemical Biology mission is to develop new chemistry tools and approaches for the spatio-temporal visualisation, quantification and manipulation of biochemical activities in living cells serving to resolve important and pertinent challenges in life sciences such as visualising the activity of selected proteins during cell division or investigating how membranes control the activity of proteins in them. This area of expertise also includes the approach of synthetic biology/metabolic engineering, where biological processes are used to produce relevant products, such as fuels, aroma compounds or medicines.
As a national research centre of excellence, the NCCR Chemical Biology gathers world-renowned researchers and relies on the collaborative and interdisciplinary effort from highly skilled chemists, biochemists, physicists and cell biologists which constitute the backbone of an extensive and dynamic network of participating institutions and key collaborations. The excellence of its research at a worldwide level offers a highly stimulating environment which encourages research, creativity, innovation and even entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the entire Swiss academic community benefits from the platform for chemical screening ACCESS supported by the NCCR Chemical Biology that aims to sustain the development of a new generation of molecules with biological effects.
To build future talent and high-level interdisciplinary researchers in both chemistry and biology, the NCCR Chemical Biology incorporates in its activities a wide range of courses and training opportunities at Postdoctoral or PhD level as well as with a Master’s degree program in Chemical Biology. It further fulfills its mission by communicating science to broad audiences through the learning facility platform, Chimiscope or by federating other public events.
