The Seventy-third Session of the Specialized Section on Standardization of Dry and Dried Produce (GE.2) is an international meeting convened by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) to develop and refine quality standards for dry and dried agricultural produce, including dried fruits, nuts, pulses, and related products. The session brings together government officials, industry specialists, technical experts, and quality assurance professionals to harmonize criteria that support consumer protection, fair trade, and market transparency in global agricultural markets.

At the GE.2 session, participants review and update international standards, classification systems, and grading protocols for dry and dried produce. Discussions encompass harmonized terminology, measurement methods, inspection procedures, and emerging market practices to ensure standards reflect current scientific and commercial developments.

The outcomes of the 73rd Session of the GE.2 Section contribute to enhanced produce quality assessment, improved trade facilitation, and strengthened cooperation among countries and stakeholders involved in the production, processing, and distribution of dry and dried agricultural commodities.
