The FAO Liaison Office in Geneva, in collaboration with the FAO Right to Food Team of the Rural Transformation and Gender Equality Division (ESP), invites you to a hybrid briefing session on “The Human Right to Adequate Food”. This event will serve as the official launch of the new FAO in Geneva Right to Food Thematic Dialogue Series that seeks to emphasize the need for concerted action and commitment at all levels to fully realize the Right to Food for all, to advocate for the redoubling of efforts to build inclusive agrifood systems that uphold human rights, and to highlight the cohesion and collaborative action between Rome and Geneva across Permanent Missions, UN agencies, civil society and academia.
The main objectives of this event are:
- To introduce the Right to Food concept and history, the international legal framework containing this right and the Right to Food Guidelines.
- To unpack what it means in practice through concrete examples.
