The main policy and decision making bodies of WIPO are the General Assembly and the Coordination Committee. Twenty-two Assemblies, and other bodies of the member states of WIPO and of the Unions administered by WIPO, meet annually in ordinary or extraordinary sessions.
These meetings bring together WIPO’s member states, allowing them to take stock of the progress in the Organization’s work and to discuss future policy directions. The Diplomatic Engagement and Assemblies Affairs Division functions as the secretariat for WIPO governing bodies.
