The House of Business (HDW) in Pratteln in the heart of the Baselbiet stands for innovation, business and services. A core element of the house is the large Conference and Event World opened in April 2021, with a variety of room options for inspiration, impulses, interaction, teamwork and strategic thinking. The unique conference centre is home to a comprehensive range of services over 2,000 m2 with 13 event rooms ranging in size from 15 to 430 m2: 10 individually furnished themed rooms for inspiring and creative meetings, a classic boardroom for board meetings and a conference room with space for 100 people.

The heart of the TEC is the auditorium on the ground floor. Depending on the seating arrangement, the 430 m2 area can accommodate up to 300 people. An 11-metre wide and 3.5-metre high LED screen as well as a control room with all the technical refinements for the best acoustics and lighting make the auditorium a location for innumerable possible events.

In keeping with the times, the auditorium has the technical equipment to hold hybrid events and stream the event in real time to the participants’ homes or to the other side of the world. The TEC facility is rounded off by two outdoor areas – the Inspiration Terrace and the Impulse Lounge – as well as catering from the in-house restaurant “BOOST”. The infrastructure can be booked by the hour or for a half or full day.

The individual conference rooms at the TEC can be booked online on www.hdw.ch/tec for one, two, three or four hours as well as for a half or full day. The TEC is the only building in north-western Switzerland where the entire booking process for a themed room can be done online. And the processes on site are also digital: from entering the car park to checking in and unlocking the room, everything is done by smartphone. More complex bookings are handled directly by the TEC office. With its range of conference and event facilities, the TEC is aimed at companies and associations as well as interested individuals and aims to not only attract customers from the Basel region but also from the rest of Switzerland and neighbouring countries with its charm.

Due to its location just a few kilometres from Basel, the TEC is easily accessible by public transport as well as by car. It is just a five-minute walk from Pratteln train station and 200 parking spaces are available in its own multi-storey car park for guests arriving by car.

The TEC’s technical equipment is state of the art and all support services are also provided in-house. The catering comes from the kitchen of the in-house restaurant “BOOST”. Fresh, healthy and regional is the motto. The menu presents popular dishes and snacks with international flair. The idea is that the menu will change at regular intervals and that the countries of the themed rooms will be reflected in the menus. “BOOST” is open to conference guests as well as external guests and offers all meals to take away.

Especially interesting for companies and start-ups: a 300 m2 co-working space was opened in March 2023.
