From copyright to the digital revolution – what will the future look like?

What will the future look like for cultural and artistic creation in the age of artificial intelligence (AI) and a flourishing platform economy? We’ll be exploring this question on 5 November 2024 with players from the cultural and artistic industries, representatives of SMEs, academics and politicians at our public event CLTR 2024.

Together, we want to hold balanced discussions and shed light on different perspectives. Keynote speeches, panel discussions and practical examples will focus on the following questions:

  • What is cultural and artistic creation?
  • How are AI and the platform economy changing cultural and artistic creation?
  • Will it no longer be possible to tell whether art and creative works have been made by a human or a machine?
  • Do AI and digital platforms pose a threat to cultural and artistic creation in Switzerland?
  • To what extent is the competition from AI and platforms justified?
  • Could society value AI-generated output more than human creativity in the future?
  • What changes to the legal framework are necessary?

The public event CLTR 2024, organised by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, will shed light on the future of Swiss cultural and artistic creation in the age of artificial intelligence and digital platforms. The current technological changes are raising legal and ethical questions. Together, we’re committed to the responsible and successful use of AI and digital platforms.
