Affordability, Security, Sustainability: is there a priority, and for whom? In today’s world, public opinion, environmental requirements, political agendas, and security concerns often drive strategies, priorities can be widely different, and sometimes technological advancements are hampered or even scientific principles are neglected. Have decisions ever been less influenced by external pressures? Are we able to consider all relevant points of view with balance? Can we better manage choices? Join us at Forum 25 on January 15-16, 2025, where we will delve into this complex landscape, explore strategies to stay on course, and get up to date on technology developments. Our Conference Chair, Prof. Piero Colonna (TU Delft), Co-chair, Daniel Reitz (Solar Turbines) and Executive Secretary, Prof. Matteo Pini (TU Delft), have curated an exciting schedule featuring major players and hot topics.
Themes and discussion topics:
- Energy and Propulsion Systems: Across the two days we explore how affordability, security, and sustainability influence technological advancements. Examining the impact of user demands and other major influencers.
- CO2 Value Chain: Discuss initiatives in carbon capture, transportation, and enhanced oil recovery.
- Hydrogen Focus: Evaluate airframer perspectives on fuel cells versus gas turbines for hydrogen combustion and the status of international gas companies in light of the new hydrogen demand.
- Sustainable Aviation: Investigate the role of sustainable fuels and disruptive propulsion designs to reduce emissions, and assess the viability of high-speed trains as an alternative.
